The kids are not the only ones wanting a tree house. Instead of buying a typical Lake Tahoe home , think about building in the woods, literally. In some communities, tree houses, complete with running water, electricity, and plumbing, are the latest rage. An one-of-a-kind, private lifestyle is possible in houses built amidst the branches of pine, spruce, and birtch tress.

Some homes come complete with swings, bridges, slides, or even a zip line, to really tap into the inner child. These home might not be for everybody, however, some have been waiting their whole lives for the chance to live in a tree.

Consumers are investing more money on outdoor "rooms," from kitchens to day beds to nightstands Aluminum platforms, mosquito nets, nylon, and woven PVC make sure water and mildew keep out of your bed.

These beds vary from luxury models by Armini/Casa's Oceano, to the more reasonably priced styles available at Home Depot or Lowe's, and come ready-to-go. Though so many areas do not allow sleeping outside, a canopied daybed on the terrace will usually be a fantastic place to kick back and take a nap.

Older Lake Tahoe homes may be affected by new remodel guidelines introduced by the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA asks for lead training, certification, and safe work practive specifications for contractors involved in such ventures when remodeling houses built prior to 1978. By the year 2010, they want to to eliminate the public health concern of lead poisoning.

Lead has been used in paint for several years and is a particularly harmful metal. Children younger than six are more likely to be affected since their nervous systems have not completely developed. Lake Tahoe real estate may make the move to teeny, tiny homes from giant McMansions. Affiliates from the Small House Society are looking to change the way individuals live, literally. The Small House Society gives info regarding construction techniques and about the experts who design and build straightforward houses, ranging from 50 to 1,000 sq ft.

Residents of these types of tiny units hope to live simply and conscientiously by consuming less energy. Bigger homes cost a lot more and are harder to look after than a tiny home. The simple life isn't for everybody, but is often "quite relaxing."

More and more people are putting a new twist to the white picket fence surrounding their Lake Tahoe home . A gated fence not only adds security, but it adds privacy as well. At the end of a driveway or onto an existing wall or fence, you can put in a gate controlled by a remote. The gate is going to be set off by computer programs, hand-held gadgets, or even your BlackBerry or Treo.

These types of models are not cheap. A DIY model can be bought for around $1,200 and a professional, more detailed system will run anywhere from $18,000 to 130,000. Some feel that these gates are a signal of the boost in fear and anxiety in Americans. Many others believe that they are just the best way for privacy. Either way, business is booming, stated those selling fences.
